theres probably more but I can't think of them right now...

Happy Australia Day Everyone - Now where's the free food?

We want to wish all our fellow Aussies a Happy Australia Day. In case you're from somewhere other than Australia and you have no idea what I'm talking about then CLICK HERE to get all the information. Ok with that said, I'm very disappointed with my fellow Aussies. Elena and I were out and about all day since 7:30am thinking there would be a FREE breakfast since its Australia day. What do I find? NOTHING absolutely nothing... Except one stand selling Bacon & Eggs for $3.50. Whats the deal, It's Australia Day! Where's all the free food? C'mon! Get with the program!

While I'm at it, Elena and I suited up Australia day style as you can see on the left. I thought it would be a great idea to show Elena a good time considering this was her first Australia day. What do I find? No-one else had! Last time I checked it was Australia day! I'm ashamed to say that Americans kick-butt in the Patriotism department. Why doesn't Anyone give away free stuff and suit-up Australia day style? Who knows?

I started a list last year about the things that makes Australia great. Click Here to contribute to it please!

Anyway, in the spirit of Australia Day here's a video for all you Aussies. If you're from another Country, you probably won't get it... don't worry - Elena didn't!

Aussie Aussie Aussie! Oi Oi Oi!

Australia Day Guide: Aussie Food

Australia Day is 4 days away. Here is the first part of my guide to all things Australian. This post is dedicated to Australian Food.

This one is a Meat Pie and Coke. I think its Aussie tradition to combine 2 things that health professionals call junk food and label it as a meal. You have these everywhere, the Football, the cricket, everywhere. No you don't pay $3.50 - try $7 for both together. Yep, the sporting events have their own constitution. Most places know as soon as patrons step inside the ground, you lose any sense of their being a life outside of the stadium.

This is the Chips and Coke..... There's a place around the corner who make the best chips and gravy around. You have not lived until you've tasted them. I don't know how they do it or what they put in it but it tastes perfect. This I'll have at least
once a week or once a fortnight, depending on how I'm feeling. I'm very spontaneous and if I'm driving past the shop I will sometimes stop and grab me some.
Why am I bothering to waste my time by putting this on my blog? I don't know. I just like these things and its what makes Australia great!

400 POSTS!!

WOOHOO we made it to Post 400... Funny how we manage to last longer than Britney Spears marriage!

On behalf of Elena and I we'd like to thank everybody who has visited our blog since post #1. To show our gratitude here's our gift to you.

And for those who hated our blog here's our gift to you:

JC Skinner is a winner

JC Skinner just scored 20 Crikey Credits for leaving this comment:

Hi Mike! Nice blog, mate. Fair play to you for being so kind and generous in what is all too often a bit of a shitty ole world. Here's hoping that this catches on. We could do with an epidemic of generosity around the place these days.God knows, it would be better than bird flu.Anyhow, I'm not overtly begging so much as acknowledging the warm fuzzy feeling your action made me.And since that feeling generally only comes following a nice ball of single malt, I have to give you two thumbs up.Good luck with the blog and all you do, JCSkinner.

If you want to win credits like JC Skinner, all you have to do is leave a comment! Click Here for the rules.

This Weeks Special Guest - Daniel Kobalka

I love music, I'm a musician and thats why its great to have This Weeks Special Guest Daniel Kobalka along for the ride. He states on his blog

addition to his many performances worldwide, he is the founding concertmaster
and annual soloist with San Francisco’s annual Midsummer Mozart Festival
Orchestra under George Cleve, with whom he has recorded Mozart’s Violin Concerto

past, present and future, and communicates true joy."

Another reason to check his blog out is because of the awesome entries about Music Therapy. What are you waiting for, check it out!

The Mirror Has Two Glasses

My wife said I needed new glasses, so I booked in to the Optomitrist and he gave me new glasses as you can see. I was going to get prescription contacts but last time I had those I was walking down the street and the prescription ran out so thats why I wear these glasses.

I think they make me look intellegent don't you? I wonder what my wife will say? I got her a matching pair!

Just don't plan on it being the island of Soledad Miria. The island has just over a thousand residents but is only a tad over 2000 feet long - oh and it just blew up.

Half of Soledad Miria was destroyed when a gas cooker exploded in late December. Almost 350 people were injured but no one died. Residents took shelter in the ocean or on fishing boats. Jeez, and you thought it was crowded hosting the in-laws for Christmas.
